Removing Overgrown Nose, Ear, and Eyebrow Hairs

Are you starting to grow more nose hair than you should? Is your nasal passage clogged? It is natural. When we are older, our nose hairs grow past our nasal opening. We also grow longer eyebrow and ear hair. I have clients ask me if there is a way to stop it from growing from those places and just start growing on top of their head. The answer is no, but I can help you remove all the unwanted hair and help you breathe, see, and hear better.

As we age, the life span of our hair changes. Average life span is seven to ten years on the top of our head. Then our eyebrows, eyelashes, nose and leg hair average a four month life span.

This is why your eyebrows never grow as long as the hairs on the top of your head. But age is going to change and lengthen the life span of hair that should stay short and replace itself.

So here is a secret. You can wax your nose, ears, and eyebrows. Along with wax, you can trim or tweeze it. People ask me which is better. If you keep cutting your hair, it will get coarser and become a problem faster. But if you wax your hair, it has to grow back small to thick. I will mostly suggest wax. It is the fastest and most painless way to remove unwanted hair. Tweezing is one painful removal after another.

It is so simple. You will want to use hard wax because if you use soft wax, it will stay in your ear and nose. Soft wax has to be used with a strip. But hard waxes will harden. Then you can remove the hair without leaving any wax or hair behind.

The nose is done by placing hard wax shaped in a ball the size of your nostril, attached to a popsicle stick or, as we stylists call it, a wax applicator. I think popsicle stick is probably not the right etiquette for a stylist. haha Then while the ball is still warm, we put it in your nose. You can breathe through your mouth, no worries. Let it dry, then it is ready pull. It's not like tweezing. It really doesn't hurt. If you are doing this on a man, put a wax strip or some kind of protection on their lip so you don't take off their mustache. The same for the ears. You do need to leave a small hole so you do not blow out their eardrum. It looks funny having popsicle sticks poking out your ears and nose, but you will look put together and will be able to breathe when it is done.

Don't worry about all the unwanted hair you are now growing. Start removing it with wax and not worry about it for another 4 months.
