Are you stuck in a rut? Do you always use the same three or four products to style your hair? Are you spending more than thirty minutes in styling your hair? Then you need to know, more is out there and looking good can be easy if you use the right products! The days of buying products based on price, smell, and color is over. You need to know what is new and how to use it.
Do you want a piecey, fun style that can blow in the wind? Replace your gel or hair spray with a new product and with new technology. Fiber. It is so good for our area. It's a newer product that, when activated, makes fiber webs in your hands. In the hair it is a flexible, texturizing, and volumizing product. It works so well in windy situations.
Wax is another way to get the piecey style and texture. It has a stronger hold than fiber. It will hold the style all day long, unless you have fine hair. Then it will just weigh it down.
Paste is the medium hold between fiber, light weight piecey and wax, heavy hold piecey. Paste will do the same as wax but doesn't seem to weigh the hair down as much.
Have you used the same mousse for years? Then it is time to learn about other products. Use serums, glazes, thermal sprays or leave in treatments, and curl creams instead. These will give your hair more style with less time and effort.
Serums are used to add shine and either enhance curls or smooth curls away. You apply the serum while the hair is wet. With your blow dryer and product, you can create curls or smooth hair.
Glazes add shine. Shiny hair is healthy looking hair. A little can go a long way. If you have natural shine, no worries. But if you use good product and are still struggling to get shine, glazes are a great way to get it. They also help with staticy hair. It's so dry in Idaho that staticy hair seems to be a bigger problem than shiny hair. Either way, a glaze is the way to fix your problems.
Leave in treatments such as oils and thermal sprays are something I highly recommend! I try to put it in the hands of all my clients. They will protect your hair while styling and during the entire day. It feeds your hair. During the day the sun, rain, snow, and wind damages your hair, not to mention everything you're doing to it--drying, curling, flat ironing, ratting, putting it up in a ponytail. That all damages your hair. A leave in treatment will protect you against the environment (and you)!
Curl creams are great. The days of crispy curls are gone! If you have naturally curly or permed hair, you should be using a cream. It will enhance the curl, separate the curl, and add shine. It will look soft and beautiful. Mousse and gels leave hair looking, well, crispy. Creams are a more natural look. No matter what, looking your best should be easy and fast. The right product for the job can help you get there.
